ldap_conf

Mounting our Fileserver via NFS

  • install nfs-common
     sudo apt install -y nfs-common
  • “showmount -e coan-srv-01” should show exported directories now
  • “mkdir /home/I”
  • sudo mount -t nfs -o soft coan-srv-01:/opt/export/home /home/I
  • “mkdir /home/stud”
  • sudo mount -t nfs -o soft coan-srv-01:/opt/export/home /home/stud
  • Make it reboot persistent with https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Autofs
  • Install autofs
  • Copy autofs files to /etc. (can be found on our gitlab repo for ldap)
  • restart autofs
     sudo service autofs restart 

LDAP Configuration Steps:

  1. Install libnss-ldapd and libpam-ldapd packages.
  2. Add nslcd.conf and nsswitch.conf to /etc. (files can be found on the ldap gitlab project)
  3. Add cachain_unibonn.txt to /etc/ssl.
  4. Add this line to the /etc/passwd file.
    +::::::
  5. Make sure of access permissions.
    sudo chmod -rw-r-----  /etc/nslcd.conf
    sudo chmod -rw-r--r-- /etc/nsswitch.conf 
  6. Start nscd and nslcd services by running:
    sudo /etc/init.d/nscd start
    sudo /etc/init.d/nslcd start
  7. Test your ldap login credentials.
